The Squad: Perfect Cover - by Jennifer Lynn Barns
February 12th 2008
Random House Children's Books
Finished summer 2008
Description
Bayport High's Varsity cheer squad is made up of the hottest of the hot. But this A-list is dangerous in more ways than one. The squad is actually a cover for the most highly trained group of underage government operatives the United States has ever assembled. They have the perfect cover, because, beyond herkeys and highlights, no one expects anything from a cheerleader.
Review
This book was surprisingly good despite my dislike of cheerleaders. It probably helped that the main character of the novel despised cheerleading so much as well. I enjoyed that the main character was actually smart and that she specialized in computer hacking. It is very rare nowadays to read about a female computer hacker. They are normally males and geeky. This book is an amusing, quick and easy read. And there is also a second novel in this series called Killer Spirit that I plan on reading in the near future.
